The pharmacy market opens 2023 in the negative because of the covid-19 effect
The online pharmacy market, like the offline pharmacy market, also starts 2023 poorly but only because of an optical effect. Blame the comparison period, where in the first weeks of January 2022 the omicron flood (Covid-19) poured millions of Italians into pharmacies.
This is what emerges from the report with which Iqvia updates to the third week of the year, from Monday, January 16 to Sunday, January 22, numbers and percentages of the e-commerce of pharmacies and parapharmacies: in twenty days, the online shows sales of 41.8 million, -1.8% compared to the same period in 2022, equal to 3.9 million packs sold, -11.1% compared to the third week of the year in 2022.
