Pharmacy market widens its value advantage over 2022 by nearly one point in seven days thanks to flu season
In the eighth week of 2023, Feb. 20-26, the pharmacy market widens the value advantage over the previous year by nearly one point in seven days, thanks mainly to the pull of seasonal disease products.
In terms of packages sold, however, the difference on 2022 is still negative (-3.4 percent) but steadily decreasing. This is what emerges from the report with which Iqvia updates to the first two months of the year figures and trends in the channel: in eight weeks, pharmacy totals a turnover of 4.1 billion euros, corresponding to almost 396 million pieces.

Moderate upward curves also for ethical and commercial: prescription drug grows in two months by 3.7% in turnover and 2.2% in packages sold.
The free-sale area evens out 2022 in values (+0%) and maintains a clear lag in consumption per unit (-10.9%, but again recovering).
