Medical device for preventing stretch marks: an emulgel based on panthenol and hyaluronic acid, now registered in Macedonia
We have recently completed the registration of a new Class I medical device with the competent authorities in Macedonia. We remind you that we have obtained extensions for the transitional period of the MDR Regulation beyond May 26, 2024, for our legacy Class I, IIa, and III devices.
This product was developed for the prevention of both white and red stretch marks. Stretch marks are a common problem during and after pregnancy due to rapid weight and body size changes. The product is an emulgel, a formulation that combines the moisturizing and regenerating properties of panthenol with the benefits of hyaluronic acid, two ingredients known for improving skin elasticity and tone.
The medical device is available in two formats: a 100 ml tube, ideal for home use, and a package of 12 5 ml sachets, perfect for carrying on the go or while traveling. This second format is particularly useful for women who want to always have the product at hand, either for regular application or emergencies.
Our emulgel is formulated with a carefully balanced combination of active ingredients that work synergistically to improve elasticity. Panthenol, or pro-vitamin B5, is known for its soothing and regenerative properties: it penetrates deeply into the skin, promoting cell repair and maintaining an optimal level of hydration. This makes it an ideal component for preparing the skin for stressful situations.
This makes it particularly useful not only during pregnancy but also during periods of significant weight loss or postpartum when a woman’s body adjusts to physical changes. During these phases, the skin is particularly vulnerable and subject to stretching, which can cause stretch marks. Regular use of the product in these circumstances helps keep the skin firm and prevent visible signs of change.
Hyaluronic acid, naturally present in the skin, can retain large amounts of water, helping keep the skin elastic, firm, and well-hydrated.
Support for Perianal Tissue Health During Pregnancy and Postpartum
Another important benefit of our panthenol and hyaluronic acid-based emulgel is its ability to promote the health and well-being of perianal tissue, providing valuable support for women during pregnancy, particularly in the period leading up to childbirth. The emulgel is a formulation that combines the moisturizing and regenerating properties of panthenol with the benefits of hyaluronic acid, two ingredients recognized for improving skin elasticity and tone.
Its combined action with panthenol makes the emulgel particularly effective in preventing the onset of tears in the delicate perianal area, making it a recommended product starting from the 34th week of pregnancy. During this period, the skin undergoes significant changes, and properly preparing the tissues for childbirth is crucial to reduce complications.
In addition to reducing tears, the emulgel also helps speed up postpartum recovery, thanks to its regenerative properties. Regular application after childbirth promotes the repair of damaged tissue, contributing to a quicker and less painful recovery.
