Pharmaceutical market balance totals 25.67 billion in sales, up 4.6 percent over 2021
The year 2022 also ends for pharmacy with sales up sharply over the previous twelve months, both in turnover and volume. That’s the response that comes from Iqvia’s latest report, which updates market numbers and dynamics to the 52nd week, Monday, Dec. 26 through Sunday, Jan. 1.
In one year, the balance of the pharmaceutical market totals 25.67 billion in sales, up 4.6 percent over 2021, and adds up 2.55 billion package sales totaling +4.4 percent over last year.

The increase is largely due to the commercial segment, which closes 2022 with +7.7 percent in value and +7.8 percent in volume.

It also shows significant increases in ethical drugs, which, however, grows over the 12 months “only” by 2.2 percent in sales and 2.1 percent in packaging.

As for the baskets of free sale, there is a bipolar trend in personal care, which grows by 2.5 percent in value, but stagnates in unit sales.

There are, on the other hand, excellent performances in the Otc segments in the case of vitamins and food supplements and cough products, the latter +78% in value and 74% in volume over the twelve months.
